La maison des Pauls

1H45 from Lyon and 2h from Clermont-Ferrand, the village of Chamalières-sur-Loire is served by the St Etienne-Le Puy train line. Just a few minutes' walk from the station, you'll discover "la maison des Pauls", a magnificent family home that Corine and Philippe have just completely renovated to make the perfect holiday home! The interiors are warm, modern and comfortable, and the decor is thought through down to the smallest detail, with renovated antique objects blending perfectly with more modern materials! New for reservations taken from October 17, 2025, an outbuilding completes the capacity. A small cottage next to the Piscine has just been converted into a bedroom for 2 people, complete with shower and toilet. Outside, you'll enjoy a beautiful swimming pool, and shady rest areas in the heart of a wooded, fully enclosed park! On site: discover the Loire Valley countryside, the pretty village of Chamalières sur Loire: bakery-grocery and 4 restaurants... For outdoor activities, there's a canoeing/tyrolienne base on site. A few minutes away, you can try your hand at the various water sports on offer in the village of Retournac, visit the Lace Museum or the Chateau d'Artias. A little further afield: explore the whole of the Haute-Loire and discover its rich architectural and cultural heritage: the City of Le Puy en Velay and its famous UNESCO World Heritage buildings, one of France's most beautiful villages Arlempdes and its castle towering over the young Loire, the lakes of the volcanic plateau or the Meygal forest.

With private parking at the front of the house, the gîte and its outdoor spaces are accessible via a staircase leading up to the property (unsuitable for people with reduced mobility).

The entrance to the house opens onto the living area, which comprises a kitchen and a large living room. A beautiful living room opening onto a terrace completes this floor.

On the second floor of the house, accessible from a staircase in the living room, are two double bedrooms and a first bathroom.
Also on the second floor, but accessible via a staircase in the living room, are 2 further double bedrooms and a new shower room.
Finally, on the 2nd floor you'll find a "dormitory" for 4 people and a third shower room.

Outside: The "upper" part of the grounds is fully fenced and planted with trees, and several rest areas have been laid out in the shade of the many trees. You'll find various trees and vines in the grounds. Finally, at the far end of the grounds, you'll find an 11-meter-long swimming pool, secured by an alarm system (please note that the alarm management is the responsibility of the gîte's occupants).

The property is a 5-minute walk from the train station.
