Located on the border between the Alps and Provence and easily accessible—just 2 hours from Grenoble and 2 hours and 30 minutes from Lyon and Avignon—Die offers a refreshing change of scenery for a weekend getaway or a longer vacation. As the capital of the Dioise region, the city has a train station (the Valence–Gap TER and the Paris–Briançon overnight Intercité), as well as regular bus routes (lines 28, 29, and 64), making it easy to reach the region’s major cities and enjoy your stay without necessarily needing a car. Nestled at the foot of the impressive cliffs of the Vercors and cooled by the crystal-clear waters of the Drôme River, Die is a charming little city with a history stretching back a thousand years. As you stroll through its narrow streets, you’ll discover an ancient historic center with Roman-era ruins, lively squares, and a Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The region is famous for its Clairette de Die AOC and its three appellations: Crémant de Die, Châtillon-en-Diois, and Côteaux de Die. Located at the gateway to the Vercors Regional Nature Park, Die also serves as a starting point for numerous outdoor activities and endless hiking opportunities: hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, via ferrata, canoeing, and skiing (Col de Rousset ski resort). Must-see attractions: Glandasse Mountain, the 3 Becs, the Cirque d’Archiane, the Roanne Valley, the Saoû Forest, and the Hauts Plateaux Nature Reserve...
Isabelle & Vincent are the new owners of this house, which—after a beautiful renovation—is now beginning a new life as a vacation home. Welcome to Les Hautes Herbes, a holiday cottage for nature lovers and city dwellers looking to unwind! You’ll enjoy a peaceful home, ideally located just a stone’s throw (500m) from shops, services, and amenities, while still taking in the charm and vibrancy of the lovely city of Die. Sheltered by its large linden tree, the house spans three levels. Located on the first floor, the holiday cottage offers a peaceful setting, as if suspended among the trees, with a breathtaking view of the Dent de Die. The living area consists of a cozy kitchen/living space and a bright living room that opens onto the terrace through a floor-to-ceiling window. The hallway leads to three bedrooms—the beds will be made upon your arrival (140x190cm, 90x190cm, 160x200cm, 160x200cm)—as well as a bathroom and a separate toilet. On the ground floor, you’ll enjoy a fenced-in property with a gate and a tree-lined garden perfect for relaxation. To enhance your stay, the following amenities are at your disposal: a table tennis table, a set of pétanque balls, a hammock, and board games. We are happy to share our new home with you and look forward to welcoming you. Welcome! Please be sure to follow the checkout instructions; part of the security deposit may be withheld if the holiday cottage is not left in a satisfactory condition: take out the trash, sweep the house, and put away the dishes... The ground-floor garage and our second home on the second floor are reserved for our use.
