LE FOURNIL

A medieval town in the Drôme Valley, Crest is a must-see for anyone exploring the Drôme region. Its tower—the tallest keep in France and Europe—offers an exceptional panoramic view of the Diois mountains. The most adventurous can even rappel down it. The “3 Becs,” the syncline, the Saou and Couspeau forests, and the hilltop villages of the valley are all places worth exploring right away.

For nature lovers, there are numerous hiking, bike / mountain bike trails nearby, and kayaking down the river promises a unique experience. As you travel upriver along the Drôme, the Diois vineyard comes into view (Clairette and Crémant de Die, both AOC-classified). A medieval festival takes place over Pentecost weekend, and the Crest Jazz Vocal Festival is held in August.

Located 3 km from Crest on a 50-hectare property featuring lavender fields, truffle groves, saffron, and sheep, the Fournil holiday cottage is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Patricia and Christophe were committed to renovating this old farmhouse while preserving its charm.
