LA MAISON DE FLORENT

Perched in the gorges that bear its name, Saint-May is a village of character in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional des Baronnies Provençales. This territory, halfway between the Alps and Provence, combines limestone cliffs, secret valleys, lavender and olive groves under a generous sunshine. The region offers Hiking for all levels, from the Saint-May gorges, a spot for Swimming and climbing, to the Rocher du Caire ridges, where the colony of vultures reintroduced in the 90s offers a natural spectacle rare in Europe. The surrounding villages are also well worth a visit: Buis-les-Baronnies and its Provençal Market, Montbrun-les-Bains classified as one of France's Most Beautiful Villages, and Nyons with its olives! The terroir is omnipresent: IGP apricots, Nyons olive oil, lime blossom, local wines and organic producers make every stop a discovery. An unspoilt region, ideal for relaxing.

Saint-May is a perched village in the Baronnies Provençales, clinging to the foothills of the limestone massif that borders the Eygues valley. This corner of the Drôme, between Provence and the Pre-Alps, is a land of Hiking, black truffles and lavender, classified as a regional nature park since 2015. Florent's home, in the very heart of the village, has been completely renovated and furnished with care. You enter through a fully-equipped kitchen opening onto the terrace, the real focal point of the living room. A few steps further up is the dining room. Upstairs, a first bedroom with a 160×200 bed and a large wall cupboard, leads to a shower room. On the lower level, a living room divided into two areas features table soccer and a TV. A second bedroom, also 160×200, has its own full bathroom, and the terrace offers unobstructed views of the surrounding crests and valleys. Saint-May is one of the few places in France where you can watch griffon vultures in flight from your own balcony, and a colony has resettled in the area since the 1990s, now numbering several hundred individuals. Parking is available outside the village, but you can unload your suitcases in front of the Holiday cottage.
