Located between the Aubrac mountains and the Cantal mountains, this characterful house welcomes you in a small, quiet hamlet. You have access to Lake Lanau 800 meters away with a mooring pontoon for boats and a private cabin, right on the water. Canoe and kayak loan available.
Nearby you can discover the Grandval and Lanau lakes with equipped beaches and water activities, the Chaudes-Aigues fitness and spa center, the Bès gorges, the medieval town of Saint-Flour and the village of Laguiole , the Garabit viaduct and the Alleuze castle and for gastronomy, the starred restaurants Bras in Laguiole and Vieira in Chaudes-Aigues.
This gîte has retained all the authenticity of traditional Auvergne houses with its cherry and elm woodwork, its alcove bed and its fireplace in the inglenook fireplace.
You benefit from enclosed land at the front. At the rear, a second garden with a terrace equipped with an awning and a gas grill as well as a dining area under a barn. You also benefit from sun loungers, a barbecue and table football. Private parking in the enclosure.
On the ground floor, living room with fireplace (pellet insert, €5 per bag), flat screen TV, wifi internet access, fully equipped kitchen. On the 1st floor, 1 bedroom with 1 double bed and private bathroom, separate toilet. On the 2nd floor, 1 large bedroom with 1 160 cm four-poster bed and 1 single bed, private bathroom with toilet, dressing room. Electric heating according to consumption (heated floor on the ground floor and convectors for the upper floors). Prices include all charges except wood.

De beaux murs de granit et un toit de lauzes qui gardent la fraîcheur.
des moustiquaires appréciables pour aérer la nuit .La Truyère juste en bas avec ballades en canoë. De belles randonnées à faire dans les estives.

Toujours d'ac pour l'Aubrac
4/5Le sud Cantal (triangle de trois départements : Cantal/Lozère/Aveyron est peut-être moins connu que le secteur des grands Puys autour de Murat/Salers, mais depuis ce gîte étonnant, mélange de grande modernité et de respect absolu du patrimoine local, on peut - à condition d'aimer les petites routes en virage - faire de superbes découvertes (les gorges de la Truyère !). Puissent simplement les futurs locataires bénéficier du silence retrouvé de ce joli lieu remarquablement équipé...et de la gentillesse des hôtes de Lou Cantagrel.

Le silence ça existe encore!
5/5Nos vacances dans" le Hameau du bout du monde" comme je l'appelle, fut
un vrai bonheur. D'abord par l'accueil de notre propriétaire concernant
les traditions de sa région. Ensuite par l'authenticité du bien loué,le mobilier
intérieur mariant avec harmonie, meubles d'époques anciens avec équipement général très moderne(cuisine-sanitaire)
Enfin les loueurs habitent en face et sont disponibles à ravir.
En résumé c'est un site de vacances rare où je reviendrais bien, ne serait-ce que pour faire du canoë sur le lac juste en bas, à vos pagaies...et surtout

A Wonderful Piece of History
5/5It was a privilege to spend a week in this wonderfully restored Auvergne farmhouse. Most rooms retained all their original features and historic furniture, but the kitchen and bathrooms were modern and fully equipped. The Truyere region has plenty to see and do, and best of all, it is not spoiled by modern tourism.
The owners of the gite live next door and were delightful.
