In the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d'Ardèche, south of the Cévennes ardéchoises, the gîte "Pourette" welcomes you for your vacations in the heart of nature in the small hamlet of Le Besset, relatively isolated amidst chestnut trees. Access is via a 1.5 km gravelled forest road (parking at the top of the path). Living room/kitchenette and sitting area with sofa and wood-burning stove. A few steps down to bedroom (1 x 140cm bed), shower room with WC. Central heating by the owners' pellet-fired boiler. Terrace in front of the gîte along the road. 2 other gîtes nearby. This is an ideal place to recharge your batteries, go hiking and discover the wild valleys and small hamlets clinging to the slopes of the Cévennes. Just 15 minutes away, you can go swimming in the beautiful rivers "La Beaume" and "La Drobie". Shops and services are 12 km away. To visit in the surroundings: the numerous villages of character, the Grotte Chauvet 2 - Ardèche, the Gorges de l'Ardèche, the caves, the beautiful markets, the Bois de Païolive, the medieval cities of Joyeuse and Largentière... Nous n'avons pas eu de contact avec le gestionnaire de ce gîte, mais par les propriétaires qui sont voisins.
Ce gîte charmant mériterait néanmoins d'être équipé de façon un peu plus moderne .
Chaises à l'intérieur peu confortables, canapé également.Le cordon tv est perfectible et il est difficile d'avoir une bonne réception
L'équipement extérieur ( salon de jardin en plastique avec 3 chaises) est démodé et n'est pas vraiment en accord avec le style rustique des lieux
L'accès enfin au gîte peut être délicat en cas de pluie et peu de place pour approcher le véhicule.
Ce gîte en effet semble avoir eu un joli passé derrière lui. Il faudrait peu de choses pour le rendre à nouveau confortable car les lieux sont magnifiques.- Cleanliness 4/5

4/5The gite was superbly located if you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track. It's small but reasonably well-equipped. It was very clean.
I was there in winter and once the woodburner was going the upstairs lounge and kitchen were warm. The downstairs bathroom and bedroom did not get sufficiently warm for my liking even though there were central heating radiators.
I had difficulty making contact with the owner to arrange my arrival and only the intervention of the Gites de France office resolved that. The promised wifi never materialised despite various requests.
Le gîte était superbement situé si vous recherchez un endroit tranquille avec une panorama magnifique. C'est petit mais raisonnablement bien équipé. C'était très propre.
J'y étais en hiver et une fois le poêle à bois allumé, le salon et la cuisine à l'étage étaient chaleureux. La salle de bains et la chambre du rez-de-chaussée ne devenaient pas suffisamment chaudes à mon goût, même s'il y avait des radiateurs de chauffage central.
J'ai eu du mal à prendre contact avec le propriétaire pour organiser mon arrivée et seule l'intervention du bureau Gîtes de France a résolu ce problème. Le wifi promis ne s'est jamais concrétisé malgré diverses demandes.- Cleanliness 5/5

Bon pour un long séjour
5/5Un gite parfait pour un séjour long (ou court) en déconnexion. Pas mal de chemin de rando autour. Ilest vivement conseiller de faire des réserves avant de monter pour ne plus avoir à reprendre la voiture.
Le poele à bois apporte un vrai plus !

Gîte charmand
5/5Gîte spacieux pour un couple. Les pièces ont un volume agréable. Le chauffage est impeccable (chauffage central + poêle à bois). L’environnement est très calme. L’accueil est très sympathique.
