At the southern tip of the Ardèche, 10 minutes from Vallon Pont d'Arc (Gorges de l'Ardèche and Grotte Chauvet 2) and the town of Barjac, the Mas des Orchidées welcomes you to an oasis of unspoilt nature, within a 10-hectare estate where several species of wild orchid grow in spring. Adjacent to our mas, the Holiday cottage 'Les Palmiers', for 2 or 4 people, offers top-of-the-range facilities and comfort (high quality materials, stone floor tiles and solid oak parquet). Private Piscine (6m x 5m - depth 1.80m, UV filtration, balneotherapy, counter-current swimming) accessible from the superb covered terrace with its summer kitchen/barbecue. Living room with integrated kitchenette and sitting area (sofa bed 140 for 2 people, high quality), a shower room/WC and 1 bedroom (1 bed 160 with its own shower room and WC), Bed linen and towels provided. Kids' playground and mini-stadium for volleyball, badminton and mini Tennis. Tree-climbing site 5 minutes away.
The access road through the woods requires special attention for low-slung cars, as there are cross drains for storm rain.
Electricity 100% renewable, most of it produced by our own photovoltaic panels.

Ian & Jackie Mackay A delightful stay
Our hosts were delightful and very helpful when we had car trouble.
It's the most expensive Gite we've stayed at out of the 6 so far and it's clear that this is because (a) it is a real tourist location (which our others have not been) and it was the high season.
Our last Gite had a small gym, a pool table and other games for the rainy days and this would be helpful although it only rained three days in 3 weeks.
Thoroughly recommended - a lovely location, a lovely property and lovely hosts.

Le gîte est magnifique. Au coeur de la nature , et finalement pas loin des commodités ville,( supermarché etc ...) nous avons profité d'une piscine personnelle. les propriétaires sont d'une grande amabilité. Un endroit magique

Fabrice et Catherine Calme et confort
Ce gîte est parfait. Situé en pleine nature, il est de plus bien isolé des autres habitations (un autre gîte et la maison des propriétaires). Un havre de détente. Il propose des coins bien exposés au soleil, d'autres ombragés. La piscine est très agréable. L'intérieur est moderne, soigné, confortable.
Qu'ajouter à cela, si ce n'est que l'accueil des propriétaires est chaleureux et que ça a été un vrai plaisir de faire leur connaissance.- Cleanliness
