Les Chanels

You're in the south of the Ardèche, close to Les Vans, in the heart of a pretty little hamlet in the southern Cévennes, overlooking the Sûre valley. It's the ideal place to discover the beautiful villages of character all around, the pretty markets of Joyeuse and Les Vans, and if you're a keen hiker, there are plenty of trails to explore. You can go swimming on the Chassezac or Sûre rivers, 10 minutes away by car. The gîte is on 2 levels, partly built of exposed stone. On the ground floor, you'll find the terrace, kitchen, bedroom with 2 single beds, bathroom and toilet. A spiral staircase takes you down to the pretty vaulted living room with exposed stonework, which also doubles as a sleeping area with a double bed. The living room has a fireplace with insert, a sofa, 2 armchairs and a flat-screen TV. Electric heating, cot. Outside, there's a barbecue area. Must-see sites include the Chassezac gorges and the Bois de Païolive, the Cocalière cave and the Aven d'Orgnac, the Ardèche gorges and the Grotte Chauvet 2 - Ardèche, so you'll never be bored.
