Just a stone's throw from the famous Mont Gerbier des Joncs, source of the Loire River, and just 1 km from Lac de Saint Martial, Les Alexy gîte is the ideal starting point for all your adventures. Lac de Saint Martial invites you to relax with its swimming, fishing and children's play areas. Explore the hiking trails that criss-cross the region and let yourself be enchanted by the wild nature of the Ardèche.
Set in a quiet hamlet, this characterful gîte is housed in an old fortified farmhouse typical of the Ardèche region. With its exposed stone walls, it embodies the charm of yesteryear. The small single-storey terrace at the entrance is perfect for enjoying your meals al fresco, while the large meadow offers a space to relax in the heart of nature. Children can play freely, and fishing enthusiasts will appreciate the 1st category river below the gîte.
The ground floor of the house includes a living room with a fully-equipped kitchenette, living room and sitting area, ideal for socializing. A single bed is available. A separate toilet and storeroom are available on this level. Upstairs, three spacious bedrooms await you: one with a double bed (140x190 cm), and two with two single beds (90x190 cm), one of which has a crib. The bathroom completes this level.
The gîte has Wi-Fi access and a bicycle shed.

GP Agréable séjour au calme
Nous avons passé un bon séjour à St-Martial. Une maison historique, en pleine nature, avec de la place et de beaux espaces verts. Merci aux propriétaires pour leur gentillesse et leurs efforts pour sauvegarder ce patrimoine. Le lac est environ à 1 km, avec baignade, location de pédalos et paddle, terrain de beach-volley. Un coup de coeur pour le petit restaurant au bout du lac ! Une fois le plein de vivres fait à l'arrivée, nous avons apprécié la boulangerie-épicerie dans le village, qui nous a permis de passer la semaine à randonner sans refaire de courses. 2 belles randonnées partent directement de St Martial, dont le Mont Gerbier des Joncs.

Sandy Séjour nature en famille
Un coin de paradis en pleine nature mais suffisamment proche du lac et du village de Saint-Martial pour tout faire à pied. Possibilité de magnifiques randonnées ou circuits vélo à partir du gîte, ancienne ferme fortifiée remplie d'histoire. Un havre de paix où se ressourcer !

spécial petits enfan excellent séjour
Pour les amoureux de l'Histoire et de la Nature, belle demeure avec tout le confort. Vastes pièces adaptées à nos quatre petits enfants de 3 à 14 ans. Grand pré pour les jeux de ballons et les siestes en plein air. Les enfants demandent à revenir. Accueil très agréable. Donc à l'an prochain.

john Peaceful haven for family holidays
If you're looking for a quiet tranquil refuge for you and your family this is the place to come. Located in the middle of a bucolic mountain setting this old once fortified farmhouse is full of charm and character but with all modern conveniences included. We spent 2 weeks here in July, enjoying the sun outside reading in the garden or profiting from the cool interior of the house (the walls are a good metre thick!). The only sounds at night are the odd owl and the breeze through the trees. The local town, a short drive away, overlooks a small lake and camping site which can provide all the necessary interest to keep small children busy and with enough bars and restaurants to keep everyone happy. Wished we could have stayed longer!
