Summer Hols Jul 2024 Excellent Gite and Fantastic Hosts!
We are a family of 3 (2 adults and one teenager) who travelled from Scotland and stayed at the gite for a week in July 2024.
The gite was very well equipped with all the required facilities for cooking and comfort. It was quite warm when we visited and the air conditioning in the rooms was very welcome! The gite has been renovated and the owners have done an excellent job of modernisation while at the same time retaining its rustic charm. We particularly loved the downstairs kitchen/living area which is very spacious and has a traditional feel.
The pool is a very short walk from the gite. It's a decent size and looks out over the fields and hills of the ardeche area - a superb view and relaxing space in a natural environment.
The area is great to explore by foot in the evenings and there are lots of quiet roads and trails nearby. We followed one trail to the south and were happy see a badger up close at one point!
The gite is in a rural location but larger towns and amenities are a short drive away. The shop at Beaulieu is good for the basics and is nearby - we walked there easily.
Finally, the family who own the gite are very hospitable and we are grateful to them for welcoming us during our stay. They have excellent local knowledge of the area and Mme Rogier pointed us to a great spot for swimming in a nearby river - much quieter than the Pont d'Arc! We were also able to bring home some of their locally grown garlic, which is delicious!
All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday and would not hesitate to recommend the gite to others.
