On the promontory of Chastelas, the medieval quarter of Jaujac, the Holiday cottage overlooks the village, the river and the volcano. The views are panoramic... Le Donjon du Chastelas is a character gîte, with two terraces, the morning terrace to the east for breakfasts and the evening terrace to the west for relaxing evenings, ideal for two people... on vacation or Telework. At the heart of the Parc Naturel des Monts d'Ardèche, Jaujac is a village bustling with local producers, organic produce and a host of shops and services, including a newspaper shop, post office, restaurants and sidewalk cafés... You can stroll through the markets, swim in the river just below, go for a hike or a walk around the crater and drink from the sparkling spring... just leave your car in your private parking lot! The Thermal Baths of Neyrac les Bains and Vals les Bains are less than 15 minutes away by car, and further afield, the Grotte Chauvet2-Ardèche or the Gorges de l'Ardèche...
Restored with exposed beams and stone, combining the contemporary with the old, the Holiday cottage is bright and airy, with east-west exposure. Access is via a staircase.
For your comfort, the bed (160x200) is made up on arrival, linen is provided and end-of-stay cleaning is included!

Uli & Raimund Empfehlenswerte Gite in einem schönen Wandergebiet
Wir haben als Paar zwei wunderschöne Wochen von Ende September bis Anfang Oktober 2025 in Jaujac verbracht. Die Gite ist in einem Ensemble von alten Steinhäusern untergebracht und verfügt aber allen Komfort, den man zur Selbstversorgung und gemütlichem Aufenthalt braucht.
Die Zufahrt zum Haus ist zunächst gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber man gewöhnt sich an die engen Straßen und hat den Luxus einer eigenen Garage vor dem Haus. Das Zentrum von Jaujac ist nur wenige Gehminuten von der Unterkunft entfernt, aber man muss bereit sein, einige Stufen durch romantische Gassen zu bewältigen.
Die Ausstattung ist ungewöhnlich gut. In der Küche ist alles Notwendige vorhanden, alles ist sauber und funktioniert, wenngleich es etwas eng ist. Der Wohnbereich ist großzügig und gemütlich eingerichtet und es gibt zwei Terrassen zum Entspannen. Es ist sehr ruhig, Verkehrslärm ist praktisch nicht zu hören.
In der Umgebung gibt es zahlreiche ausgeschilderte Wanderrouten, von einfach bis anspruchsvoll, und es gibt viele Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Natur zu entdecken. Empfehlenswert ist ein Ausflug zur Grotte de Chauvet 2, eine aufwändige und naturgetreue Nachbildung einer Höhle mit 35.000 Jahre alten Felszeichnungen. In der Gite steht viel Literatur rund um das Ardèche-Gebiet zur Verfügung, allerdings überwiegend in französisch.
Agnès Blais, die Eigentümerin, war jederzeit erreichbar und konnte viele Anregungen für Einkäufe und Ausflüge geben.

Excellent séjour à Jaujac .
Tout d'abord un grand merci à notre hôte pour son accueil, sa disponibilité et sa discrétion.
De par sa situation géographique et son architecture le gîte est très agréable .De plus la propriétaire a su lui donner esthétique et confort.

CR Idéal pour un séjour au calme en Ardèche
Hébergement idéal pour un séjour au calme en Ardèche. Très bon accueil par la propriétaire qui est disponible si besoin. Le gite, très bien situé sur les hauts de Jaujac, est impeccable et aménagé avec goût. Les deux terrasses invitent à s'y poser ! Tout est accessible sans voiture : la baignade, la rando, le village, sa place et ses commerces. Ce qui n'empêche pas de la prendre pour découvrir la région. En bref, que du positif !
