Le Champ Vermeil

Stone-built gîte set between garrigues and vineyards, the ideal place to recharge your batteries.

In the heart of this limestone plateau, in the commune of Bidon, leave the main road to reach the stone hamlet of Champ Vermeil, surrounded by garrigues and the owner's vineyards.

You'll immediately fall in love with this 18th-century building, divided into several apartments. The private courtyard in front of the entrance to the gîte is the ideal place to share good times: garden table with barbecue and plancha, deckchairs for relaxing and catching up on old times, and a ping pong table for the more active. A pétanque court is available in front of the gîte.

Inside, stonework blends with a soft, uncluttered decor. The ground floor features a spacious living room with fully-equipped kitchenette, large wooden table and decorative fireplace. The space opens onto a living room with corner sofa and TV. The house's special feature is its two vaulted cellars, also on the ground floor, one converted into a reading and games room, and the second ideal for enjoying a fine wine in the best possible conditions. Laundry and WC are also available on this level. Upstairs are the 3 bedrooms, each with a double bed. One of these has a baby corner with a cot and changing table. A bright bathroom with shower, bath, double washbasin and toilet completes the first floor. Air-conditioning on the first floor.

Nature lovers will be delighted, with numerous hiking and biking trails around the gîte. The region is also an ideal playground for climbing, caving and canoeing in the famous Ardèche Gorges. To cool off, there's nothing like a swim in St Martin d'Ardèche, unless you prefer the fresh air of Grotte Chauvet 2, 17km away. To discover local produce and fill your shopping basket, visit the local markets.
