The Gîte de Pêche du Lieu Sorbier is a former stone farmhouse—completely self-contained and carefully restored—located in a peaceful hamlet in the Bourbonnais Bocage. With its exposed beams and authentic charm, it offers the ideal setting for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature. From the holiday cottage, you’ll enjoy a pleasant view of the private pond available for your use—where fishing is practiced according to the “No Kill” principle (catch-and-release is mandatory)—as well as a vast natural area perfect for relaxation and walks.
Perfect for fishing enthusiasts, family vacations, getaways with friends, spa retreats, or excursions to explore the Allier region, this holiday cottage combines comfort, authenticity, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere in a preserved natural setting.

Ground floor: a cozy living room with a wood-burning stove, open to a fully equipped open-concept kitchen. The sleeping area includes two bedrooms: one with a double bed (140×190) and one with two single beds (90×190). You’ll also have access to a bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet.
Outside, you’ll enjoy a pleasant 300 m² private green space, a large courtyard, and a furnished terrace with patio furniture, a gas plancha, and a charcoal grill. Outdoor enthusiasts will also appreciate the pétanque court as well as the opportunities for walks around the pond and through the 2-hectare private wood.
The estate’s pond is home to perch, carp, roach, black bass, and rudd. Upon prior request and for an additional fee, Anthony, the owner and certified fishing guide, can offer introductory or advanced fly-fishing lessons. Karine, the owner, also offers massage and reflexology sessions by appointment (for an additional fee).
Combining heritage, nature, and relaxation, the holiday cottage enjoys a prime location for exploring the must-see attractions of the Allier department. In the heart of the Bocage Bourbonnais, you’ll enjoy the rolling landscapes, hiking trails, and charming villages. The Tronçais Forest, located 30 km away, is one of the most beautiful oak forests in Europe and offers numerous opportunities for walks and outdoor activities. About 60 km away, Le PAL theme park will delight the whole family with its animal park and attractions. History buffs can also visit Moulins, a “City of Art and History,” with its historic center, cathedral, and the National Center for Stage Costumes. Numerous castles, Romanesque churches, and farmers’ markets round out the attractions of this ideal destination for a rejuvenating getaway.
