Les Granges de la Forest is a holiday cottage for up to 8 people set in a lush green setting in the Ain region Two former 17th-century barns (circa 1611) joined together into a single building (total 160 m²), completely restored and beautifully renovated, with a landscaped 2,000-square-meter garden, perched on a hill overlooking the historic and well-preserved village of L'Abergement-de-Varey and the Oiselon Valley. Close to the GR59 hiking trail and the Bugey region, with plenty of activities to discover. Everything is included, and pets are allowed.

More than just a house, Les Granges de la Forest, formerly stables, offers you an immersion in a warm atmosphere where wood and stone reign supreme, as evidenced by the exposed beams and hardwood floors.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be charmed by the warmth of the living spaces. The kitchen, the true heart of the home with its authentic wooden furniture, opens generously onto a bright living room. This space is the perfect setting for family meals, flowing naturally into a cozy living room with a sofa bed (for two people). Here, the charm revolves around the fireplace, perfect for relaxing evenings. With its two bedrooms and flexible living areas equipped with sofa beds, the holiday cottage comfortably accommodates up to 8 people.
Your stay will allow you to discover the treasures of the Bugey region. Just a few minutes away, you can explore the marked trails along the GR 59 that wind through the surrounding hills, offering breathtaking views of the Ain Valley. History buffs can explore the charming village of Saint-Jean-le-Vieux, at the gateway to the Revermont region, or set out to discover the ruins and castles of the Allymes that dot the local hiking trails. For a more aquatic experience, the nearby Ain River invites you to relax, swim in the summer, or go canoeing and kayaking to discover the landscapes from a different angle.
The grounds surrounding the holiday cottage promise beautiful getaways. Across from the building, access a vast wooded area (2,000 m²) via natural stone steps. Admittedly, it’s a climb, but the effort is well worth it for the site’s wild beauty—a true haven of peace to recharge your batteries. A well-lit area with outdoor furniture and a barbecue awaits you. Enjoy a game of pétanque in the shade of the trees or settle in by the small pond to savor the serenity of the place.


Discover your vacation rental, adjacent to the main residences: entry into the fully equipped kitchen, its living room, and, extending from there, its lounge area (sofa bed for two people) with a fireplace. A bathroom with a toilet.
Upstairs, a living room with a sofa bed (for 2 people) and a bookshelf, two bedrooms each with a 160x200 cm bed, one of which has a private bathroom (shower with toilet).
From the living room, a staircase leads to the top floor, a mezzanine with an additional relaxation area.

Travel light: beds are made on arrival; bathroom linen and linens are provided. Utilities are included. Cleaning is optional.
Heating: Ground floor—wood heating and electric. First floor—heat pump.
Pets are allowed for a flat fee. Three parking spaces and a five-car parking lot 50 meters away.
