Nestled in the heart of the peaceful little hamlet of Matafelon-Grange, Le Refuge des Gorges de l'Ain is a charming little single-story detached bungalow, ideal for comfortably accommodating up to three people. Designed to offer a carefree stay, this vacation rental provides an all inclusive package—from bed linens and towels to utility costs—so all you have to do is unpack your bags. Your four-legged friends are also welcome to join you on your vacation.

The modern and tastefully decorated interior opens onto a bright living area that combines a cozy living room with a large flat-screen TV and a welcoming dining area. The open-concept kitchen—fully integrated and very well-equipped—faces a large, contemporary bathroom featuring a spacious walk-in shower. In the sleeping area, the master bedroom features a large double bed, complemented by a high-quality convertible armchair to accommodate a third person, as well as plenty of storage space.

Outside, you’ll be able to make the most of sunny days on a well-exposed (northwest-facing) wooden deck, shaded by awnings and furnished with outdoor seating. The garden offers a lush, secure setting, perfect for relaxing outdoors with your pet. A locked, secure storage room is also available for easily storing your bikes and hiking gear.

Ideally located right next to the magnificent landscapes of the Ain Valley, the holiday cottage is the perfect starting point for a multitude of outdoor activities. Hikers, trail runners, and cyclists will enjoy the many trails and small roads winding through the Jura Mountains and the Haut-Bugey Plateau. The proximity to the Ain River and the surrounding lakes makes it easy to enjoy swimming, canoeing, kayaking, or fishing in a pristine environment.
As you explore the region, you’ll be able to admire stunning panoramic views, visit spectacular lookout points overlooking the gorges, and discover a rich local heritage featuring quaint, authentic villages and refreshing waterfalls.

Discover your vacation home: the entrance opens onto the large living area with its relaxation spaces and kitchen. One bedroom features a bed (160×200) and an extra bed (110×190). There is a walk-in shower and a separate toilet.
Unpack your bags: the beds are made on arrival, and bathroom linen and linens are provided, along with heating. Housekeeping is optional.
