In the heart of the Dombes region, halfway between Pérouges and the Villars-les-Dombes Bird Park, just outside Lyon, this holiday cottage is housed in a farmhouse that was once part of the Montellier castle. Located at the far end of the Dombes-style farmhouse on this working farm (growing grains and raising calves from September to May), the holiday cottage accommodates 7 people in a lush green setting (3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms). Through the courtyard and private garden, you enter a bright living room and a spacious lounge. A fully equipped and functional kitchen area, a small laundry room with a washer and dryer, and a separate restroom with a sink; adjoining this is a small office area with a built-in closet leading to the master bedroom (1 bed, 160x200 cm) with a walk-in shower.
In the center of the living area, a white staircase leads to the upper floor with 2 bedrooms: one with a 140x190 cm bed and walk-in closet, and the second with two beds 90x190 cm and one 120x190 cm single bed; a bathroom with a walk-in shower and a separate toilet. Central heating (wood pellets and dual-flow air conditioning). The shared pool with other guests and the owner (4.1 * 8.5 m, depth ranging from 0.9 m to a maximum of 2 m with a gentle slope) along with its low shelter and covered terrace is available from mid-April to mid-September (10 a.m.–7 p.m.).
Nearby: a lake for fishing enthusiasts. Ideal for bike rides (a few bicycles available at the holiday cottage), the Dombes plateau, with its thousand ponds, will enchant you with its peaceful natural setting and local cuisine. Places to explore: the markets in Meximieux and Chatillon-sur-Chalaronne under their covered halls, and a little further away, the city of Lyon with its historical and gastronomic heritage; the capital of the Bresse region and its Royal Monastery; or the Bugey region and its renowned Vineyard.
