  Unique big cabin in tranquil setting

  The design and build quality of this log cabin is outstanding - a credit to the gentleman who crafted it and rents it, Francois. It’s larger than we imagined from photos, open plan, with much attention to detail. Beds were comfortable and all appliances very good. No wifi but 4G (despite the gite’s isolated location) worked for yoga via Zoom! The fish in the pond were lethargic after so much cool rain, hiding under snags - to be expected in November - but gave a few bites each day. Great butchers and bakers , and quality big value menu du jour (Amer Doux) in Ahun. We used logs in the super central burner, but Francois only charged us half the full price as he expected more to be burnt - what a nice chap. Enjoyed talking to him, partly through Google Translate! Nice local welcome cake, we went to Ahun and bought more as gifts. Ideal place for our big dog, too. It was a wet but enjoyable week.
