A well-appointed Tardis

In an ancient corner of Cluny, the external aspect of Les Clés de Saint Mayeul gives the impression of being a compact building but this hides its spacious nature - especially for four people - but easily for eight or, perhaps, ten.

Our host Bertrand lives next door and is rightly proud of the work he has done to modernise this old town-house. A superb host, he was attentive to our every need (although most were already satisfied before our arrival). We found it good value for money. If there had been more of us it would, of course, have been even better value.

Just a five-minute walk from the centre of Cluny (downhill) the gite is superbly located for visiting the Abbey, the shops, the Saturday morning market and a range of restaurants. The Carrefour supermarket is just ten minutes' walk away and, on the other side of town, the excellent Bi1 supermarket is less than ten minutes' drive away. There is a private, off-road car parking space inside the grounds of the gite.
