Très belle location avec une vue magnifique. Le temps ne nous a pas permis de profiter des extérieurs mais on reviendra !

A great escape to quiet and rest

This is a beautiful property in a wonderful location. The directions were accurate and the property easy to find. We were warmly welcomed by Patricia who was lovely. We were shown all the amenities and helped to settle in. The location is a mix of private and holiday accommodation and in late October there were few people about - which was perfect. The property sits over looking Lac de Vouglans and the electronic shutters rise to reveal a tranquil vista of turquoise waters and acre upon acre of natural forest and dramatic cliffs. This can be enjoyed from the extensive terrace. The property is high quality, well furnished, decorated and equipped. The lounge diner is large and cosy - the weather was cold and wet but we were always warm. We like to buy local produce and cook and there was more than enough equipment to do a wide range of meals in a beautifully fitted kitchen. The bedroom shares the beautiful view and you can start the day by looking across the forest in total peace and quiet. The bathroom was very clean and a powerful shower with plentiful hot water. We run our own seasonal businesses and only holiday out of season and it has been a hard year. We just wanted to get away to the middle of nowhere and a place to walk the dog, and this was perfect. Last year we went to all inclusive to the Caribbean - St Lucia. I think I would rather book this house again rather than being surrounded by thousands of other people. There are many places to visit though - beautiful towns and villages, the Cascades de Herisson, Lac de Etival. On the final day we drove through Gex towards the Swiss border and Col de la Faucille. At the top of the mountain pass the view of Mont Blanc is mind blowing! What a way to end a fabulous, restful week. Patrica met us to check that all was well before we left. we were welcomed warmly, we were comfy and warm all week and were wished a safe journey before we left for the Loire Valley. Thank you for a most pleasurable stay.
