Charming base in quiet hamlet

A very clean, charming and well equipped gite in the lovely hamlet of le Pré above Villaroger. The gite is in its own building, over 3 floors. Ideal for 2. I stayed with my daughter for a ski holiday and we could have 2 bedrooms by using the sofa bed in the separated mezzanine sitting area. All impeccably clean. The kitchen and dining area is the central space and has everything you need for self catering - a proper kitchen not a kitchenette. The owners are locals and live nearby and were so kind, friendly and helpful, waiting for us after a late arrival due to travel disruption, and helping to receive delayed baggage. We enjoyed being based in this quiet Savoyard hamlet as opposed to a big noisy ski resort. At night total silence. The terrace is huge and has super views over the valley, although we did not use it much as we were out skiing all day. As the owners clearly advertise, the basement bathroom is very low and you will have to stoop to enter and generally watch your head. So not ideal if you are very tall or have a bad back. However it is atmospheric and we found that it was perfectly OK to shower while sitting or kneeling in the bathtub. As a base for skiing, the location works well. The lift up to Arc 2000 is fast and we never had to wait even though it was peak French ski holiday and queues up in the main resort were sometimes huge. You can buy your tickets by the lift, and as long as there is snow down here you can ski back from Les Arcs on an easy blue run through the forest. We mostly came back this way as we always finished in les Arcs after closing time. The extra time needed to access the main resort area is not a limiting factor in how far you can ski in the extended lift area in one day, because the queue bottlenecks are elsewhere. We managed to get to ski to Champagny en Vanoise and back in day. There is also a local ski rental place (Èpic) who are very friendly and have good gear. Merci!

Séjour à la montagne

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Les propriétaires sont accueillants, le gîte est propre, agréable et confortable. Nous nous y sommes sentis très bien et avons pu profiter de belles sorties en raquettes dans un cadre magnifique.

Fidèle à la description

Nous avons été très bien accueilli avec gentillesse et bienveillance.
Gite super bien équipé et avec goût
Le seul bémol concerne la salle de bain et sa hauteur sous plafond.
Le stationnement est un peu éloigné pour décharger les courses et les bagages, mais ce n'est pas dérangeant pour le quotidien.
La vue est splendide

15 jours à Villaroger

Nous avons passé deux très bonnes semaines dans ce Gîte. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour passer un très bon séjour. Le gîte était très propre et agréable. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et avenants. Je recommande !
