Sainte-Croix Animal Park : Visit this unique park to get close to Nature
With over 328,000 visitors annually, the Parc Animalier de Sainte-Croix at Rhodes in Moselle has become over 38 years a model in France and Europe in its presentation of European animals and endangered species from all over the world. Set in 120 hectares of leafy countryside, 3 discovery trails take visitors to encounter 1,500 animals of more than 100 species living in semi-captivity.
Since 2010, the Animal Park has been offering unique experiences : overnight stays in a tree house or a lodge facing the deer park or the wolf enclosure...
A Nature school
Gérald and Liliane Singer, farmers originally from the Sarrebourg area and passionate about nature, took a wild gamble in 1980 by devoting their land to deer watching and the building of a petting farm so young local children could get close to domestic animals, sometimes for the first time. A fervent admirer of the King of the Forest, Gérald brought the first stags from Chambord to the ‘Great Plain’ of Sainte-Croix, his Garden of Eden.
Today, 25,000 schoolchildren a year come to Sainte-Croix to discover European wildlife, domestic animals and endangered species from around the world.
Parc Animalier de Sainte-Croix and biodiversity

Sainte-Croix takes part in conservation programmes for endangered species. Some of its animals like European bison and Przewalski horses are part of the EEP plan for endangered species. The babies born to these species will be reintroduced into the wild in Europe and their genetic strains carefully preserved.
To support its conservation actions in the field, the Parc Animalier de Sainte- Croix set up an endowment fund at the end of 2016 called Sainte-Croix Biodiversité. Donations received via animal sponsorship and patronage, are thus paid directly to local, national and international associations to implement their projects for habitat and species conservation. The Park also plans to set up its own conservation projects.
In 2019, next stop the New World
In 2019, the Parc Animalier de Sainte-Croix set its sights on North America, the « New World » ! This new visitor zone of 8.5 hectares of wild plains and woodland is home to different North American species living together : American bison, black bears, prairie dogs and coyotes (the first in France!).
