Holiday rentals Var
The Var, one of southern France's most sun-drenched départements, is a popular destination for holidaymakers. Choose a holiday rental in the Var. Set on the Mediterranean coast, it is an ideal holiday location for beach dwellers. Rent a house in Hyères for all the family, or book a holiday villa with a swimming pool in Saint-Tropez or a seasonal rental in Toulon.
The Var also has lovely countryside where you can rent a typical Provençal "mas" (farmhouse) surrounded by an olive grove.
On your way from Hyères to Collobrières, as the road climbs up to the col de Babaou it crosses stands of chestnut trees, a suggestion to try the local sugar-coated chestnuts. Book a holiday apartment in Draguignan or in Lorgues. You can explore the area by bicycle; the local cycling clubs regularly organise events. The Var also offers many places where you can go hiking or rock-climbing. Book a villa close to Brignoles, at Correns at the foot of the cliffs that overlook the Argens river.
Don't forget to take a dip in Sillant, close to the 25-metre waterfall. In the inland part of the Var you can visit many picturesque villages: Le Tourtour, Montferrat, or Ampus. Book a chambre d'hôtes in Aups, a typical and charming Provençal village that is very lively, with its cafés, shops and a typical regional market. During your holidays in the PACA (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur) region you can visit some exceptional tourist attractions in the Var, such as the castle of Entrecasteaux, the Cotignac cliffs and its cave houses, the royal tower in Toulon, the Orves gardens in La Valette, are just an example.
Thoronet abbey is renowned for the acoustics of its abbatial church and is a wonderful place to listen to Gregorian chants during the "Musique et Esprit" festival that takes place every year in August.
