Parc de loisirs et Music-Hall
"Alsace has no shortage of amusement parks for a day out with family or friends - children love them ! Whether in the water, in the treetops or on the ground, having fun in Alsace is a serious business ! Welcome to a world of fun, thrills and discovery.
We have to start with Europa-Park in Germany near the border with France which was voted best amusement park in the world 5 years in a row. It is the second-biggest theme park in Europe with an amazing variety of rides and thrilling attractions. The Mack family, roller-coaster builders, did not expect such a great success when they opened a park at Rust, near the Franco-German border, to display their products. In 2017, Europa-Park was the second most visited park in Europe with 5.7 million visitors, after Disneyland Paris and its 148 million visitors. With just over 2 million visitors, Puy du Fou, Parc Astérix and Futuroscope pale into insignificance !

Head for Montagne des Singes – Monkey Mountain – well, it makes a change from storks in Alsace ! Under the watchful eye of Haut-Koenigsbourg castle, the Parc de la Montagne des Singes is home to more than 200 Barbary apes. Visitors are always surprised how tame they are as they don’t hesitate to take popcorn from outstretched hands (popcorn is given to visitors at the entrance). Barbary apes rule OK !

At the Volerie des Aigles in Kintzheim, admire the finest and biggest birds of prey in the world during breathtaking aerial shows ! At the heart of the ruins of Kintzheim castle, eagles, vultures, kites, falcons, buzzards and owls fly around freely during a commented display. The Volerie des Aigles is not simply a bird show, it also seeks to inform and make the public aware of the importance of biodiversity and animal conservation. The Volerie des Aigles was the first of its kind in France when it opened in 1968 with the main aim of : restoring the image of birds of prey in the eyes of the public, reproducing birds of prey in captivity and maintaining projects for biological diversity conservation. The park is open every year from March to November and 40 minute shows take place at different times throughout the day.
Fun and sport : Parc Alsace Aventure offers an encounter with adventure, culture and nature ! This treetop adventure park in Breitenbach has a range of activities to take you breath away spread over four universes.
After all of these activities, take a trip back in time to the famous magical Music-Hall Alsacien at the Royal Palace ! The Royal Palace at Kirrwiller, a little village of 685 inhabitants, is every bit as good as the Moulin Rouge and the Crazy Horse. When Pierre Meyer took over the Royal Palace in the 1980s it was just a small dance hall. Gradually it forged an identity and as investment and the number of shows increased it became justifiably well-known. Today it is one of the three greatest cabarets in France. It has its own ballet company, musicians and grand chefs who all work to offer the audience an evening to remember.
