Gaillac wine and Pastel were exported by Gabarres from the "port de la ville" and the Quais Saint Jacques, at the foot of the house.
From this 17th-century mansion, you can recount the history of the thousand-year-old town of Gaillac. From your room, you'll have a breathtaking view of the river Tarn and the Abbatiale Saint Michel. During your stay, you can choose between strolling through the narrow streets of the old town or the Place du Griffoul, where local producers set up stalls on market days. This winegrowing town with its rich past is a lively place from spring through to the Gaillac Primeur festivities. Gaillac is the heart of the vineyard that bears its name, one of the oldest vineyards in France, and the starting point for numerous walking (St Jacques) and tourist trails, to the Bastides that once protected the area, to meet the winegrowers and taste their wines. A Town of Art and History, its heritage echoes that of Albi and its Episcopal city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The guesthouse is entered through a masterly entrance, the heart of which is a Renaissance stone staircase. Built opposite the Abbey, it offers a unique view. The five bedrooms are located on the third floor, each for two people, with private bathroom (shower or bath) and high-quality, king-size bedding. Fridge and washing machine available.
