Holiday rentals Tarn
This summer, choose to spend your holidays in south-western France and book a holiday rental in the Tarn. The "Tarnais", which is the name given to the inhabitants of this département, will give you the warmest of welcomes.
Nature lovers will be delighted to spend their holidays in the Tarn; you can rent a holiday apartment in Albi, or a chambre d'hôtes in Gaillac, or what about a house with a swimming pool in Cordes-sur-Ciel, which is an ideal place from which to explore your natural surroundings. The Tarn département is home to ten "Natura 2000" sites. Near Cordes, the forest of Grésigne, which you can cross on the GR46 hiking trail, is famous for its Durmast Oaks, which were once used in the shipbuilding industry. Boom a seasonal rental in Castres and explore the Causse (limestone plateau) de Labrugière and the Causse de Caucalières.
Go fishing in the Lignon valley; this river is a tributary of the Agout, which in turn leads to the Tarn, which itself leads to the Garonne. Book a gîte close to the source of the Tarn and go hiking in the neighbouring département of Cévennes. Rent a house in Mazamet, close to the heart of the Haut-Languedoc regional nature park, and make the most of nature: there are activities for the whole family. Go climbing in the Montagne Noire or gliding and paragliding at the local airfield.
There are many cycle touring associations in the region and they will be delighted to advise you about excursions in the area. The region abounds with artistic and architectural heritage: the Viaur viaduct built by Eiffel, Albi the "red town", the numerous Cathar fortresses such as the castle of Pennes, punctuate a landscape made of summits and rocks. Your holiday rental in the Midi-Pyrénées will allow you to explore this proudly Occitan region.
