The Manoir d’Eyrignac and its gardens
The Manoir d’Eyrignac and its gardens are in the hills of Périgord Noir, 13km from Sarlat and 25km from Lascaux. The listed site dating from the 17th and 18th centuries is open all year round.

Essential sight-seeing : 300 plant sculptures, hand-clipped by 6 gardeners in the traditional art of topiary using shears, string and plumb lines, among impeccable lawns, fountains, flower beds, a kitchen garden and a garden of white roses.
Eyrignac is an estate where tradition is very much alive, as it has been handed down for 22 generations over the past 500 years. The father of the current owner, Patrick Sermidiras, created the gardens from scratch during the 1960s in what he perceived as a tribute to the gardens ‘à la Française’ of the Grand Siècle (17th century). An essential place to visit in Dordogne, this gem of a garden is a unique testimonial to the art of topiary in France.
The structured gardens are interspersed with colourful, lyrical beds giving a rural dimension. The Kitchen Garden and Flower Garden, separated by a path of weeping cedars, were designed by owner Capucine Sermadiras who wanted to be able to bring the garden into the house with a pretty bunch of flowers or a basket of fresh vegetables.
One of the finest gardens in Dordogne : an absolute must to visit for all the family.
