Super-Lioran - an ideal family ski resort !
Every year, the Cantal volcano at the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne is covered in a blanket of snow ready for winter sports. The resort of Super-Lioran, which nestles among the pine trees, offers a wide range of winter sports for all the family. Varying from 1,160m to 1,850m altitude, this vast ski area extends over 150 hectares and is the number one ski area in Auvergne ! It has 44 pistes, covering 60km of slopes which enable you to enjoy skiing and discover the spectacular scenery of almost the whole of the Monts du Cantal. The medium-altitude resort of Super-Lioran has all the advantages of a major resort ! It has 10 green, 14 blue, 15 red and 5 black pistes and is continually updating its equipment to ensure rapid access to the top of the slopes. In addition, numerous activities are organised to ensure you have a fun stay with family or friends, whether for skiing or just enjoying the snow.
Skiing at Super-Lioran is a wonderful experience in exceptional, peaceful surroundings. Use the ski lifts to reach the summits of the slopes and admire the view over the Monts du Cantal. Then choose one of the pine-bordered slopes and begin your descent of the largest volcano in Europe. You can also explore Cantal in the snow by going snowshoe trekking, cross-country skiing or dog sledding along marked tracks. As well as skiing, Super-Lioran has several facilities and services to help families have a memorable, carefree stay. « Les Petites Galinottes » is a day care centre for children aged from 3 months to 5 years old in the centre of the resort so parents can make the most of their holiday. There is also a ski area for beginners where children can take lessons if they wish and get their first ‘ski stars’.
The resort has a Snow Park and an ice rink which is open from December to March. Evening ski parties are held on Mondays and Thursdays during the school holidays.
Enjoy snow without skis in Le Lioran !

There are plenty of ways to have fun in the snow besides skiing. Tobogganing and alpine coasting or new sensations like snowmobile rides to admire the scenery, rock climbing on frozen waterfalls, mountain hiking, balneotherapy. And for something completely different, try skijoring or pony sledding !

The resort of Super-Lioran is open from 22 December to 7 April, every day 09.00 – 17.00. Depending on snow conditions, the opening can take place on 8-9 December or 15-16 December. The ski area is open to everyone and has 44 pistes on 60km of slopes, a beginner’s area, snowpark, tobogganing runs and lots of walking trails.
To make your holiday as pleasant as possible, the resort is equipped with 250 snow cannon ensuring 70% of the area is snow-covered including the beginner’s area and snowpark. The 18 ski lifts comprising 1 cable car, 8 chairlifts, 6 surface lifts, 2 magic carpets and 1 telebaby mean that you don’t have to wait very long at the bottom of the slopes.
The resort can be reached by several means of transport. By car, of course, but remember to have snow tyres fitted and chains if weather conditions require them. Shuttle buses and trains run from several towns like Aurillac, Vic-sur-Cère and Murat. Le Lioran is the only ski resort where the train arrives at the foot of the slopes. Get off the train and get straight onto a ski-lift !
