Les Sites Jeanne d’Arc à Vaucouleurs
Vaucouleurs is a delightful little valley town of 2,000 inhabitants in the south of Meuse, where Joan of Arc set out for Chinon in May 1428.
It has several historic places to visit : the Porte de France, Chapelle Castrale, Crypt and Tours Pagis.
Where to go in Vaucouleurs ?
The Musée Jeanne d’Arc in a wing of the town hall (Hôtel de Ville), it recalls the major role played by Vaucouleurs in the story of Joan of Arc.
More than 300 items, including drawings, models, promotional items, stained glass samplers spread over 4 rooms each with a different but complementary decor.
Don’t miss : the audiovisual show in the crypt (ask at the Office de Tourisme beforehand).
