Domaine de Chantilly
At Chantilly in the south of the Oise, lies a magical place where you can admire works of art, discover the world of horses and walk around a park designed by Le Nôtre. A wonderful place for a memorable family day out.
Domaine de Chantilly – a French heritage gem
A veritable architectural gem, the Domaine de Chantilly is the work of a man with an exceptional destiny : Henri of Orléans, duc d’Aumale and son of Louis-Philippe, last King of France.
To make your visit to Domaine de Chantilly easy, the site is equipped with digital, interactive, fun tools for children aged 3 and over !
Thanks to the measures taken by the Duc d’Aumale in his will, Chantilly remains, over a century later, a rich, preserved showcase of 19th century charm, like the Musée Condé, at the heart of the château, which has the second largest collection of old paintings after the Louvre with works by Raphaël, Ingres and Delacroix. A tour of the superb Grands Appartements (State Apartments) is the opportunity to discover the pomp and splendour of the nobility of the Ancien Régime.
Domaine de Chantilly – discover the art of horse-riding and horses in art !
Have amazing fun in a 4,000m² maze and don’t miss the wallaby enclosure of Bennett’s wallabies, including an albino one called Cream !
The Musée du Cheval (museum of the horse) in the 18th century Great Stables features more than 200 objects showing the importance of the relationship between men and horses : rare paintings, antique stirrups, ivory horses, wooden merry-go-round horses, carriages, and lots more ! Young children who are too small to enjoy the museum collections will love the horse-riding displays and dressage demonstrations.
Home of the famous Crème Chantilly
If there is one thing you simply have to eat during your stay at Chantilly, its Crème Chantilly ! This smooth, light, sweetened whipped cream is a chic gourmet experience and any resistance is pointless !
