Côte d'Albâtre
The Alabaster Coast - 120km of chalk cliffs
Seine-Maritime, region of light and contrasts, is bordered by 120km of high chalk cliffs which give the coast its wild beauty.
The Côte d'Albâtre (Alabaster Coast) has an amazing variety of places for swimming, nature walks, enjoying fresh fish and sailing : a coastline of wild cliffs, seaside resorts, fishing harbours and historic sites.
The shoreline of the Pays de Caux alternates between dizzily high cliffs and ‘valleuses’ (gaps between cliffs), bustling ports like Dieppe, Le Tréport and Fécamp and small family-friendly seaside resorts with pebble beaches like Veules-les-Roses, classed as one of the « Loveliest Villages in France », and Etretat, one of the best-known places in Normandy.
Events and happenings on the Côte d'Albâtre

Maritime festivals and events enliven the seaside resorts of the Normandy coast from May to November : local seaside fetes, nautical events like the Transat Jacques Vabre at Le Havre, the Tour Voile at Dieppe and the International Kite Festival at Dieppe attract tourists of all nationalities and provide unforgettable souvenirs.
Among the many nautical activities are sailing trips on yachts or traditional sailing vessels, paddle-board or kayaking trips which offer a different view of the Côte d'Albâtre from the sea.
« I love taking my guests for a walk or bike ride to see the high cliffs of the Alabaster Coast. From Veulettes-sur-Mer we take the GR21 hiking path or the Véloroute du Littoral cycle route which runs from Le Havre to Tréport. » - Martine, owner of Au Gré du Vent B&B at Malleville-les-Grès (G21096)
