Choose from our selection of gîtes, chambres d'hôtes, group gîtes and campsites by the sea, in the mountains, in the countryside or in town, on the island of Corsica, the most beautiful of all Mediterranean islands.
More than half of Corsica's land surface lies above 400 metres. The island's most beautiful villages were built on high to protect them from invasions by the Byzantines, the Moors and the Genoese. This is a paradise for historical architecture enthusiasts, with the Neolithic standing stones of Filitosa, the monoliths of Pallagiu, the Roman ruins in Aléria and all these Genoese watchtowers that bear silent witness to five centuries of occupation. As you travel along the Corsican coastline you will cross the arid Désert des Agriates near Saint-Florent before reaching the citadel of Calvi and then Scandola - Europe's finest marine reserve - the Gulf of Porto and the magical and mysterious Calanche di Piana.
Further south, you will eventually reach Bonifacio, the beaches and creeks around Porto-Vecchio and finally the rugged coastlines of the Cap-Corse in the far north of the island. The inland regions are just as remarkable. Explore the olive groves of the Haute-Balagne, the sheep pens of the Niolo and the Aiguilles de Bavella. Along the way, try the island's many culinary treasures, such as jugged boar, delicious cheeses, and desserts made with chestnut flour.
