Colorado Provençal
The ochre-coloured landscape of Luberon
Ochre was initially used in cave paintings, then rediscovered at the time of the French Revolution and sold throughout the world for over a century thanks to its permanent colouring properties. Ochre is a natural pigment which has made a powerful comeback today, giving a new lease of life to many activities concerned with painting, decoration, pottery and building.
There are many colourful sites which are absolute musts to visit especially for children. Afterwards you can enjoy a stroll through the village of Roussillon where all the houses are painted in different shades of ochre.
