Château de Beaugency – Stronghold of the Dukes of Orleans
Le château de Beaugency forteresse des Ducs d'Orléans

The fortress of Beaugency, which has been lovingly restored, used to protect the old town from invasion. Its Romanesque keep is 36 metres high. Originally inhabited by the Seigneurs of Beaugency, it became the property of the Dukes of Orleans until the Revolution.
Plunge into the everyday life of a feudal castle during the 15th century. Tour the castle with the aid of a touch-screen tablet in the footsteps of Jean de Dunois, companion in arms of Joan of Arc. The « Tabulette » brings the castle to life by reconstituting the decor of bygone days and figures from history. This fun visit is an amazing augmented reality experience for all the family ! Bread is made every day in the castle bread oven (you are welcome to try it !). There is also a medieval garden with vines and an orchard.
