Recharge your batteries during a relaxing stay in Cantal and enjoy its hot spring water. Cantal is well-known for its beautiful scenery and friendly inhabitants, but it is also the site of the hottest springs in Europe, 82°C, at the Source du Par in Chaudes-Aigues, in the south of the region. The little town has around 30 hot springs with temperatures ranging from 52° to 82°C.
Caleden, the spa centre at Chaudes-Aigues, brings together many health and wellness activities. It takes its name from « Caldae » meaning heat and « Eden » referring to paradise. The spa complex has several different specialist areas : a ‘thermoludique’ fun area for all the family and a spa and wellness centre for relaxation and treatments with pools ranging from 32°C to 37°C. Treatments include hydromassage, Vichy shower massage, hydrojet shower, mud wraps, hot stone massage, Californian massage.
Caleden specialises in the treatment of rheumatic disorders. The centre offers 18-day packages combining treatment (prescribed by your doctor) and the benefits of Cantal hot spring water. Between treatments, patients use the different pools with temperatures between 32 and 37°C with jacuzzi, bubble jets and counter current river. There is also an outdoor pool on the roof with an underwater music system to relax under the stars in water at 37°C.
Caleden on the Plateau de l'Aubrac
Chaudes-Aigues is on the Plateau de l’Aubrac in the south of Auvergne. The surrounding countryside is perfect for a leisurely or an active holiday. During your stay in Cantal, take a break between sight-seeing trips or walks and treat yourself to a full-day or a 2-hour package at Caleden which offers a full range of massage techniques including Californian, Balinese, Indian and Japanese. Relax on a whirl bed, under a waterfall of hot spring water, in the sauna or steam bath. Choose from balneotherapy, massages, aquagym, jacuzzi, facials, mud baths and lots more. The Caleden spa complex in the Parc Régional Naturel de l’Aubrac is open from February to November. Courses of treatment are available from March to November. Early booking is advisable.
