We settled in the Morvan in 2016 to lead a simpler life. Life in the Morvan is a natural continuation of our love for (walking in) nature. Our scientific background comes in handy when growing our own vegetables. We are more inspired by the Perma culture philosophy than following all the steps; it is important to (re)use the raw materials and possibilities that are locally available as much as possible. The chickens help transform the vegetable waste into tasty eggs. We ourselves try to transform basic raw materials such as flour and milk and beans into delicious bread, yogurt and tempeh. In the beginning it seemed like a lot to make a lot of your own food. But over time, it turned out that it is actually very natural. You just have to cross that threshold.

Because we were able to buy our neighboring house and convert it into a gite, we are able to show our guests life in the Morvan. In addition, we can also let them share in the yield of the vegetable garden , lowering that threshold for making some of your own food. For example, we recently gave a course in fermentation (= making sauerkraut yourself) in the Bistrot du Parc du Morvan .
