La Maison du Contremaître

Domaine des Carriers is a former limestone quarry whose old houses and outbuildings have been converted into charming gîtes and chambres d'hôtes. A haven of peace and history, it's just a 5-minute drive from Clamecy, 46 minutes from Auxerre and 2h35 from Paris.

The gîte La Maison du Contremaître is totally independent and offers 100 m2 of living space. It is accessed via a discreet side entrance. At the rear, you can enjoy the terrace: sunny during the day, a large parasol is at your disposal to optimize your time; fully lit, you can enjoy it until late at night. The gîte has a beautiful, functional fireplace in the living room, fuelled by wood logs.

A vaulted cellar on the first floor, accessible from the house itself, makes for magical candlelit evenings!

The two bedrooms are upstairs. The bathroom is en suite and has an integrated toilet (the second toilet is on the first floor and is independent).

Occupancy for 4 people:

One of the two bedrooms has a 160 x 200 bed, and the other twin beds (90 x 190) which can easily make a double bed: 180 x 180. High-quality bedding ensures ideal sleep and rest.

Sleeps 6: 1 sofa bed in the living room. Please contact management for rates.

A magnificent room in the cellar has been fitted out to enable you to organize some exceptional evenings. By candlelight, for a chilled aperitif or to taste wines you've unearthed during the day... this space is at your creative disposal!

The cellar is accessible from both inside and outside (electrically-operated glass door and staircase).

Enjoy our infinity pool, with panoramic views over the Canal du Nivernais, the roofs of Chevroches and the foothills of the Morvan. Relax in an idyllic setting, surrounded by beautiful vegetation and restful calm. Heated swimming pool, for private use and reserved for guests of the gîtes and chambres d'hôtes. Open from 09:00 to 20:00. Dimensions: 12 meters long and 5 meters wide. Open from May 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024.
