Thermal resorts such as Contrexéville, Vittel, Bains-les-Bains or Plombières are universally acknowledged for the curative virtues of their waters and the thalassotherapy treatment they offer to their residents. Furthermore, their casinos are often fine examples of the Art Deco style. Bathers and anglers will enjoy their stay in Lorraine since they can choose from three rivers - the Meurthe, the Moselle and the Meuse - teeming with trout, pike and carp. Before settling down to a scrumptious meal served with white Moselle wine and ending with a slice of plum pie (tarte aux mirabelles), make sure you lay the table in accordance with local tradition, gracing it with Mirecourt lace and Lunéville embroideries, enhanced by Baccarat, Daum or Saint-Louis glassware.
